The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) is seeking a team-oriented, motivated, and innovative full-time faculty member with a didactic phase focus to join our PA Medicine Program. Faculty rank, salary and tenure status will be based on terminal degree and experience. Start date is negotiable. Key Responsibilities:

  • The didactic phase faculty member works as part of the PA Medicine Faculty team to deliver the didactic phase curriculum and other areas of instruction as needed. The position also assists the Program Chair and other faculty members in the leadership and management of the program, ensuring the program promotes college diversity goals and inclusive excellence.
  • Maintenance of clinical practice encouraged.
  • Develop, coordinate, teach, and evaluate didactic and clinical curriculum, incorporating diversity within the curriculum.
  • Create, deliver and evaluate student learning assessments.
  • Participate in the development, coordination, evaluation, and revision of didactic and clinical curriculum with the PA faculty team.
  • Instruct in areas of subject matter expertise
  • Strong background in a variety of clinical skills and procedures preferred.
  • Serve as a course director for didactic phase courses; providing instruction, course oversight, and adjunct faculty/guest lecturer support as indicated.
  • Participate in and support the work of program accreditation maintenance.
  • The individual must exhibit exemplary communication, presentation, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Provide inclusive academic advising that meets the needs of a wide diversity of learners of multiple backgrounds.
  • Incorporate diversity within the curriculum and comply with accessibility requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have at least 2 years of clinical experience, the ideal candidate will have experience in teaching, preferably in graduation education
  • The candidate must hold a master's degree in a PA (doctorate preferred) or a doctorate if an MD, DO, or NP.
  • The candidate must be a board certified PA, physician or NP and hold a current Minnesota PA, physician or NP license or be eligible for PA, physician, or NP licensure in Minnesota.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment including computers and telephones. Need to be able to work for long periods of time at a computer to enter data, produce reports and receive information. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers in person and through technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree
  • Experience in teaching, preferably in graduate education
