Brescia University, a small Catholic Liberal Arts University located in

Owensboro Kentucky, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the

Assistant/Associate Professor level to develop and direct a new M.S. in

Physician Assistant Studies program. This position is a 12-month full time

faculty member with administrative responsibilities. The start-date has

flexibility: November 2023, January 2024 or March 2024. Brescia seeks a

highly qualified leader to oversee the program and support integrated

programmatic and university mission and goals.

The successful candidate will meet the required qualifications: Graduate of

an accredited Physician Assistant Program, Master’s degree in an

applicable field (doctoral degree preferred), current license or eligible for

licensure as a PA in the state of Kentucky, current certification or emeritus

status as a PA-C by the NCCPA, three or more years of full-time higher

education experience (preferably within a PA program as principal faculty

and/or as an administrative appointment within PA program leadership),

applicable experience in leadership (ARC-PA accreditation process

experience preferred), and two or more years of clinical practice experience

as a PA.

The position responsibilities include full program development of a new

M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies program including program

organization, program administration, fiscal management of the program,

continuous programmatic review and analysis, program planning, program

and curriculum development and assessment (both didactic and clinical

phases), completion of ARC-PA required documents and adherence to the

standards and ARC-PA policies. Additionally, this position will supervise

and oversee recruitment and retention of program personnel including the

PA Program Medical Director, Principal and Instructional Faculty, and

program staff.

Finally, the successful candidate will have organizational and collaborative

skills, strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving skills, and

enthusiasm to be part of a new project. The candidate will possess a

strong desire to serve both University students and the wider community.
