It is my pleasure to announce that Priscilla Marsicovetere, JD, PA-C, current Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Program Director and Associate Professor, has been promoted to the position of Dean of the College of Health & Natural Sciences and Professor of Franklin Pierce University beginning August 30, 2021.
Dr. Marsicovetere served as the Director of the MPAS program since 2017. Under her leadership, the program experienced significant growth, becoming one the University’s most competitive offerings. Dr. Marsicovetere has been a strong advocate for healthcare access in rural and underserved regions, and recently helped secure Franklin Pierce a spot as one of 20 PA programs nationwide to participate in the PAEA pilot program to develop a standardized course of study for PA student training in substance-use disorder.
A leader within the Franklin Pierce community, Dr. Marsicovetere has served as President of the Academic Senate; a member of the University’s Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Chair of the Faculty Protocol Revision Committee. At the national level, she has been a regular volunteer for various PAEA activities, including the OTP Task Force, member of the Government Relations Steering Committee, and an Emergency Medicine/General Surgery Exam Development Board member. She will begin serving as an ARC-PA site visitor in the upcoming Fall/Winter.
As Dean of the College of Health & Natural Sciences, Dr. Marsicovetere will oversee the growth and development of the university’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Nursing programs, as well as the undergraduate health and natural sciences programs.
