PAEA Announces Request for Proposals for the Assessment Editor in Chief Position

PAEA is seeking proposals from active PA educators at member programs for the position of Assessment Editor in Chief. This role will oversee editorial operations of PAEA Assessment publications and lead the newly formed Assessment Advisory Board.

The selected Assessment Editor in Chief will ensure high-quality exam development and production processes. They will also collaborate with the Assessment Advisory Board to maintain a timely assessment production schedule and drive innovation in the field.

Outgoing Editor in Chief Kim Cavanagh, DHSc, PA-C, who has been involved in PAEA Assessment for two decades, brought a wealth of experience to the position. With a solid reputation as an assessment expert, Dr. Cavanagh will remain on as the outgoing Editor in Chief for two quarters to assist in onboarding and mentoring the new editor.

Qualified applicants should have expertise in assessment and a deep understanding of PA education. Preference will be given to applicants who have had extensive experience with a PAEA Exam Development Board. Compensation for the position is $4,000 per quarter, with travel expenses covered by PAEA for required meetings.
